Sticky note

I miss track and field. I miss the people the crowds the cheering the warm-ups the times in the callroom before competitions the deep heat the handshakes before races the adrenaline the gunshots the momentum and the way time freezes when we’re running. Somehow, everything around us was muted like a television and the moment you cross that finish line you hear again. I miss collapsing on the red carpet after each set of sprint work. I really miss those days when at least I feel somewhat in control.

Now, it’s just a mess of things with lots of political green involved.
