Monday at Aston’s

After all that awesome gluttony and indulgence of good food without a care of calories. ๐Ÿ˜€

After work I had to brave traffic storm to meet Jiamin and co. Actually no. I took shuttle bus which burnt away 20 minutes but I was talking to Si Rong and Shao Ming so it felt like a shorter ride than usual. I was reluctant to go because I was released late. Thank you very much to a certain warren, now we have to fill up a book every time we enter and leave the ulu cesspit. Did I mention I hate regulars? This is the only organisation where people without any skills can get a job. Real companies in the real world doing real things relevant to this society would never hire them tattoos. However in this organisation, tattoos are welcomed because it means one thing or two – slavery without qualms upon a contract signed and manual labour/OT without the fear of them demanding for a better pay simply because they lack the thinking organ. Sadly but amusingly, Biology’s crowned jewel wasn’t endowed on them. This is not a prejudice against tattoos. It’s just funny when you see all that lowliness employed to protect the country. Oh well pawns will have to die first right. We’ll be on first class flight outta here when the siren usually played on total defence day is sounded. Quick cash they think but they left out the footnote of the contract which whispered slow death.

I digressed, I realized. So I eventually, after much cursing and swearing with images of myself stabbing that warren, arrived at The Cathay. Because the girls sat right next to the queue outside Aston’s they felt very much obliged to be eating while the beeline stared at them. I apologize for the indigestion if they have diahorrea from chewing their food into liquid to stall time. ): Please take it out with my superior. Anyway, vege pasta wasn’t listen on their menu but thank god they do have. In fact, it was pretty decent especially the brocolli. Freaking succulent brocolli. ๐Ÿ˜€ It comes with mushroom soup too. Aston’s at The Cathay is freaking worth the dollars because there’s no service charge (insert money face) and their food is actually good. So now I know where to head to for meals before movies. After Aston’s was Rochor street or road where we had Tao Huey with the You Tiao. From Rochor to Cathay many food hunts and interesting outlets were lined. There’s this North Indian restaurant maybe I’ll drag Pillai and James down after james flies back from Thailand hopefully in once piece and not in an urn. Tao Huey was pleasing sweet and I love the little space on the second floor. Although it has a serious problem of echoes and voices being trapped and amplified but this is also the exact reason why places like Mind Cafe attract large groups of noisy kids.

Talking was good. Laughing was better. Jiamin’s random antics will never bore us nor would she run out of weird random things to do – like getting touchy with xueyun. We realized we have the same pre-exam stress practice of scanning through notes right before the paper even if we’re not absorbing because some things we see might just be required in the papers. Also, we will sleep for five minutes only to wake up and realize its 5am and a huge pile of workload staring menacingly at us. Unforgivable we think but we repeat. ๐Ÿ˜€ All except Mel who faces exam calmly instead or frantic flipping, nor does she sleep for ‘five’ minutes. I love hanging out. It makes living so much easier.
